The River's Edge

In the cloud-wreathed hills of Costa Rica, architect Daniel Cross moves his family into the crumbling Perez estate to restore its barn and rebuild a life frayed by betrayal. The river below unsettles him; the townspeople's whispers of a mystery haunting the estate, sparks his new wife's investigative nature. A suspicion of murder that leads her to a legend older than the coffee trees and whose mourning has a habit of swallowing children. When their daughter begins hearing weeping in the night and their son befriends a boy no one else can see, the line between story and threat thins to mist. An old diary and a tarnished locket hint at a century of buried sins: a dead father, the loss of generations of children, and a curse sealed in the river.
